Mary Wright [née Webb](c. 1776-1799)Mrs Wright was the daughter of Captain Webb, of Bristol, and the cousin of Mrs Yate, of Madeley. She visited Madeley on occasion (though it is uncertain how often), and she was acquainted with Mrs Fletcher whom she regarded hightly. Mrs Wright wrote in a letter:'I
should have esteemed it a great privilege to have enjoyed a little more
of Mrs. Fletcher's company and conversation; but I trust, this is
reserved for another visit, fi the Lord sees fit. I found my mind much
united to my dear Cousin during our short visit, and should feel it
truly pleasant, as well as profitable, was I so situated as to be able
to enjoy her society, and to join with her in addressing the throne of
grace. There is something exceedingly reviving in religious conference
with a friend: I have little society here...' [Methodist Magazine (1799), 275.] She died 4 January, 1799, age 23. |
